Through his work with Peggy O., Michael Sorg has cultivated a special
relationship to German poetry. He
has composed settings for text
from Bertolt Brecht, Joachim Ringelnatz, Rainer Maria Rilke, Wilhelm
Busch, Erich Kästner, and others. Most of these
compositions
feature a style which retains the natural rhythms and
intonation
of speech, while creating an integrally musical melody supported by
unique, interesting harmonies.
