Inspiration is often received in ways that seem too academic or dry to
some, but the creative artist is often
in need of new methods in order to reach the next level. Since the year
2000, Michael Sorg has researched the possibilities of using modes of
more than 7 tones (especially 9 tones) in composition and improvisation.
This has proved very fruitful, and many of his
compositions since are based on this theory.
This page will eventually provide a portal to a parallel site which
will serve as a resource for musicians and composers interested in
scales, patterns, and harmonies. Provided
below are examples of compositions written with this principle.
