The jazz big band has always been a favorite vehicle for arrangers and
composers. Michael Sorg's big band
experience started very early; his first arrangements were
written for children his age who were just learning to play their
instruments! This close connection has continued throughout
his life. In the military bands, he composed
for, rehearsed and led jazz ensembles, and wrote as well
for concert band (wind ensemble). Below is an example of a chart
written and sung by Michael.
